For Intro to Kayaking Courses
We recommend bringing nose plugs, we also have some here in the shop.
Base Layers
- Bathing suit or synthetic/quickdry underwear
- Long sleeve top (merino wool or synthetic)*
- Tights or long underwear (merino wool or synthetic)*
- T-shirt or tank top (merino wool or synthetic)*
For Sun + Bug Protection
- Quick-dry pants
- Quick-dry long sleeve top
- Multi-functional headwear* (ie. Buff)
- Sunscreen* & bug spray*
- Waterbottle* & carabiner*
For Your Feet
- Wool or synthetic socks (no cotton)*
- River shoes* (neoprene boots, water shoes with a good sole), sport sandals*, or running shoes. Must be suitable for swimming and walking on rocky shorelines.
For Your warmth (Spring & Fall esp.)
- Wool or fleece layers
- Paddling jacket* or light raincoat
- Neoprene layers (top, bottom, cap, socks and gloves)* or
- Wetsuit or drysuit (if you own one)
Items Available for Rent
It is possible to add on rentals during your course
- Boats: Kayaks, tandem and solo canoes
- Gear: paddles, helmets, lifejackets, sprayskirts
- Thermal wear: paddling jackets, neoprene overalls (wetsuits)
Bringing your own gear?
- All paddles, helmets, life jackets and boats must be suitable for whitewater.
- Boats must be outfitted with flotation (bags or bulkhead) and thigh straps (for canoes).
For After Paddling
- Towel
- Toiletries (please use biodegradable products)
- Change of clothes
- Bug protection (bug jacket or head net)
- We accept Visa, Mastercard, Debit and cash, however we do not have an ATM onsite. If you’d like to have some cash for tips or other purchases, please bring it with you

Check-In + Check-Out Times
Check In
The evening before your course between 7 & 10pm. Please plan to arrive during this time and not before. We want to give you our full attention which will begin after the students from the previous course have checked out.
If you are coming from Ottawa, there is a round-trip shuttle service available. Please contact us for details.

Weekend clinics – Sundays at 4:30pm
5 Day Courses – Fridays at 7:00pm
Registration + Cancellation
Registration is only valid with a deposit of $100 per person per day. Balance is due 60 days before the course and will be charged to the credit card provided at the time of the booking, unless noted otherwise.
Once you have confirmed your course with a deposit, you are able to cancel and receive a full refund, less a $100 administration fee, if we are notified 60 days before the course date. If cancelling between 60 days and 14 days before your course, the deposit is non-refundable. Within 14 days of course date, the full balance is non-refundable. The same policy applies to transferring course dates. If you are concerned about cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances, please purchase trip insurance to protect yourself.
If we are unable to provide your course for any reason, you will receive a full refund.
Health Requirements
If you feel sick or have flu like symptoms, please stay at home.
